*We are a day late this week as we struggle to put the
finishing touches on some recent new ventures. More

*Good idea gone bad? You may recall that I was one of
10,000 folks given a brand new Compaq computer by a web
site called FreePC.com? Well, that site has closed down
and its members were merged into the eMachine organization.
Now, we are being set free. In an email that surprised
me this week, I was given instructions on how to eliminate
nearly 2 gigabytes of advertising that had been used to
reduce my 15" monitor to something a bit smaller after
subtracting the 2.5" inches at the bottom and the 1.5"
inches on the right side that displayed a constant diet
of advertising. They have made arrangements to transfer
the title to me for the experiment. Makes me think that
this program was NOT generating the interest needed to
keep going. That may be a red flag for the "surf/get paid"
programs, although there are differences, primarily, that
I the user can always close the ad-serving software
whenever I want with PTS program, and I could not with the
computer. This is apples and oranges folks. See the news
below.
*Ehits has another hit on its hands. I first reviewed this
hit-making product several months back. Like all great

*X.com scammer alert. There is a fellow sending emails to
X.com members claiming the site is down and requesting you
send your information to a NON X.com address. The lack of
a "legitimate" X.com address should be the first clue, but
the second is that no company would make this kind of request.
It is very much like the AOL stinkers who claim to need your
passwords/info. Don't be taken in. Some members have
complained about access to the site. I have not noticed a
problem. I have an extra nickel in my account from interest
paid on the balance, and I still like this program. Have you

INTERNET MARKETING EXPERT CAN'T GIVE AWAY $100 BILLS

Yes, the above statement is a true story. Most importantly to
you is, *the fact* we couldn't even give away $100 bills on the
Internet. This incredible experiment reveals why most don't
make money online and what you can do RIGHT NOW to change that
and start profiting immediately.
Here's what happened we created a web site making a legitimate
offer to give away free money, promoted it through search
engines and newsgroups. We left the web site up for several
months - but not a single person took us up on it.
(This story does have a happy ending though - keep reading to
find out!)
What does this mean to you and your online business? If you
are selling anything less attractive than free hundred dollar
bills (and that's most everybody, by the way) then it is
*critical* that you keep reading to learn the very big problems
you face in order to make money online.
Most People Don't Understand Just Exactly How Hard It Is To Make
Money On The Internet - Or How Easy It Can Be IF You Do
Everything Exactly Right
As very successful technology marketing consultants, we've taken
people who hadn't earned a penny online and got them started
making money immediately. And, we've worked with people who
were already making good money and literally exploded their
profits with our special methods and techniques.
But, unfortunately, the plain truth is it's hard to sell
ANYTHING On The Internet! And, if you don't mind me being
blunt, I'm going to tell you the main reason why more people
aren't buying from you.
They Don't Believe One Darned Word You Say! Literally. They're
sick of being lied to. Sick of being misled. Tired of
outrageous offers, unsolicited email spam, products that don't
work as advertised, and people who hide behind fake names and
fake email addresses.
And, Here's The Problem. Even if you are selling the greatest,
most effective, amazing product or service in the history of the
world (even free $100 bills), I GUARANTEE you that whatever you
are doing to establish your credibility right now isn't enough.
You've got to BEND OVER BACKWARDS to prove that you and your
offer are legitimate and believable, and it's likely that you're
not doing even half of what you should do to maximize your
sales. (Which is good news for you, because after reading this
article you should be able to *instantly* increase the
profitability of your website or online business. -)
Let me repeat that, because this is one of the most important
things about selling on the Internet that almost everybody is
missing. You've Got To Bend Over Backwards To Prove That
*YOU* And Your Offer Are Legitimate.
You can blab on for hours about how great your product or
service is, but without spending time establishing how
trustworthy and legitimate YOU are, you won't make the sale.
Let's take our attempt to sell $100 bills as an example. I'm
going to dissect our ad and tell you everything that was
wrong with it. Are you making any of these mistakes?

... Would you take a free $100 bill if you read that ad?
First off, let me ask you a question if you knew for a fact
that the above offer was legitimate and true in every way ...
how many $100 bills would you buy? (Dumb question, right?)
Then why didn't people try to buy thousands of them? There's
only one reason the ad did not have credibility. And even
though this example is on the "outside edge," the same problem
exists in virtually every ad on the net. I'm here to tell
you that no matter how good you think you've established your
credibility in your current sales letter, you can do more -
and doing so will put your sales through the roof!
OK, what's wrong with the ad we ran?
1) Too many exclamation points. Makes it sound "hypish" and
destroys credibility - without credibility, no sale.
2) We don't identify ourselves in the ad. That's a terrible
mistake, and I don't just mean our company name ... Any scam
artist can register a fictitious business name, and they're easy
to hide behind. Without a clear identity behind the offer - to
defray any fears your prospects may have - even the best offer
with a triple your money back guarantee means nothing ... you
won't get the sale.
You should always have a "clear identity." You should have a
phone number, address, and whenever possible a fax number.
NEVER use hotmail, usa.net, or other throw-away free email
addresses. Those who are out to scam you and run *almost always*
use throw-away email addresses - free email addresses. At least
with a legitimate ISP email account, the customer has some
feeling you can be found if you turn out to be one of the "bad
eggs" - a scam artist.
3) Need to give credentials. I should have established that I'm
an expert in my field, should have listed famous and successful
clients I've worked with ... you get the point. You must do
everything you can to show your credentials, because that helps
to build credibility.
4) Need testimonials. I should have listed happy customers of
ours and happy people who had previous order $100 bills, using
FULL names whenever possible, not initials. Testimonials are a
great way to gain credibility. Even the weakest of testimonials
can make a dramatic difference in your sales. HARVEST those
like the golden nuggets they are. When a customer writes you
saying nice things, *always* write back and ask, "Can I quote
you on that?" You'll be surprised how many say, "No problem"
and this alone can make such a difference in your success you
won't believe it until you've tried it.
5) Give full contact info like our business address and phone
number to establish that we're "real people." There are many
services where for a few dollars a month you can get a "one
number for everything" services, taking both voice mail messages
and faxes and forwarding them to you via email.
6) Here's a very important one we need to explain WHY WE ARE
DOING THIS. Lots of people miss this point. If I explain that
we're giving away $100 bills as an experiment, or because I'm a
wealthy philanthropist, etc., people understand what's going on,
and there's a better chance they'll believe me.
I hope these tips have been of use to you. If you put these
concepts into action in your online marketing, you should easily
be able to increase your sales.

"sold" a $100 bill to the very first person that we contacted.

Surfing for pay this week:
AllAdvantage must be impressing someone besides me. They
just put together a second round of financing in the amount
of $100 Million. Are you still doubting the viability of
this program? Early investors poured more money into the
company, and I suspect, many will be there to invest still
more when AllAdvantage completes its IPO. Yes, that is
right, IPO. The first mover in this still moving segment
of the Internet has filed paperwork to take the company
public later this year. No word on whether members will
have an inside line on at least some of the stock (we
should.) Are you still doubting this is going to work?
What if you go to the site and look at the outline for
world domination. You can see the countries on the
goal-list for first quarter, and by the end of the year,
even some parts of the world with a less affluent
demographic could be paid to see ads served to them and
get paid for their time. THERE IS STILL TIME. I have
heard from some folks who say something to the effect of,
"This is great, but everybody knows about this, and there
is no one new joining. (wah, wah)." WRONG. Yes, many
are members, but MILLIONS of others are not. Go get some.
I personally have cashed a check every month since they
began paying. Each month is bigger, and that trend will
continue in my opinion. Problems still exist, but this
is not a passing phase of marketing. It is here to stay,
and if you have to narrow your choice to one company (why?)

I am looking forward to seeing Ignifuge earnings this month.
I made an effort to get in 10 visits a day whenever possible
and it seems my downline did too. Elsewhere the other
program paying for visits, PaysU, is rumored to be close to
releasing its software for the surfing part of the program.
BTW, so long as your visits are more than 10 minutes apart,
you can visit the PaysU site up to 70 times/day.
Not a peep from mValue regarding the contest. If you are a
user, be sure you are surfing vs having the software running
without movement. You can earn points without earning cash.
A new version coming soon will reportedly have a light to
show when you are getting paid for one or both. That would
be better.
Elsewhere, the wanna-be, GetPaid4 has finally gotten some
things straight so I can at least sign on and use the software.
My stats are still questionable, but I do see an increase
in my stats from last month (now that I can see them.) There
are more improvements promised, but a promise in this industry
seems to be as flimsy as the chance of having the Publisher's
Clearing House van finding me on SuperBowl Sunday. They were
in Texas this year, just not at my house. Reports are being
heard that non-US users are being blocked from using the
software.
Meanwhile, ClickDough has decided to service only Americans
with a noticeable outcry from folks in Europe and elsewhere
where heavy promotion will result in no payback ala GoToWorld.
GoToWorld, by the way, has made it to my trash heap. There is
no there there, and it is time to stop pretending their whole
scheme was anything but a publicity stunt for an erratic
browser. Running dangerously close to being trashed is
DeskTop Dollars, who announced with great fanfare a new release
of its software (one that is NOT stuck in the middle of your
screen refusing to move for anything) only to have to send me
an apology when 6 downloads of the full version stopped short
of installing the program, telling me I had not gotten a "good"
copy and asking me to download it again. The software appears
to match the sloppy, mis-formatted message heralding
improvements. Oh well. Like I say, dangerously near being
abandoned, and that is another one with a decent downline, dang.
Still elsewhere, something called YellowBubble was considered
and rejected. They are experiencing problems from the start,
and who knows what they will not be able to deliver once they
have members. Give this one a pass. Still elsewhere, Utopiad
members are averaging about $.30/hour. That needs to improve
and the arrival of opt-in email ads should boost earnings.
Furthermore, over at ePIPO, site down time is preventing me
from checking stats there. The release of the software IS
proceeding, just going to slowly, but that could be based on
the payrate which would put $30 in your pocket without any
referral surfing. They may be having trouble finding the
advertisers needed to get more software released. Users of
the RadioFree Cash software (get paid to listen) are reporting
the current version of the software is eating resources and
crashing computers. I told you last week you can get the
software now, but with the reports I am hearing, I would wait.
At the moment, they are paying members in CDs the kind with
music not dollar signs.

Your site is up and running and it's amazing. Right on the
cutting edge, with all the latest bells and whistles, it's
a marvel of Internet technology. A wonder to behold and a
pride to own but...are you making any sales?
You're doing everything right. You rate good on the
engines. Your other promotions are all pulling well and
people are arriving in droves. So why is nobody buying?
If you were to check your site stats, you would probably
find out it is because nobody is staying.
Does your page take too long to load? Unless the reason
they came to it in the first place is VERY compelling, you
have about 30 seconds (a minute, max) to load up and get
their attention before they leave.
Do they have to download and install special plugins and
viewers or the latest browsers to see your page? The
majority won't you know, they will just leave.
Does your page flash and sparkle with enough graphics and
pop-ups to dazzle the eye and confuse the brain? You may
have just confused them right off your site.
Technology is great, and a successful site needs it, but
not the cutting edge type. Leave that to the trail
breakers. The big money sites. The ones that are so popular
that people will do whatever they need to get into them.
If you want to become known as an technological wonder, or
superb entertainment, then go ahead and lay in the latest
and greatest that technology has to offer
If on the other hand, your goal is to sell your product and
make money, then take an example from the Internet greats
and stay back on the beaten path because that's where every
one else is, and that's where you will find your customers.
Look at Corey Rudl for instance. He is undeniably one of
the greatest Internet marketers of his time. When you visit
his websites though, you enter a low keyed, quiet,
unassuming place.
Using only words, (usually black text on a white
background) he leads his visitors quietly into the
inescapable conclusion that they need to buy whatever
product he is offering. His pages load fast and you won't
find any popups, rollovers, plug in downloads or requests
that you use the latest browsers. In fact, most times you
will be hard pressed to even find a small graphic.
Don't misunderstand, the technologies are there, his
websites are fully automated and his visitor stats,
ordering procedures, and affiliate programs etc. are second
to none. It's all behind the scenes though, where it
should be in the majority of websites.
So to sum up, if your website is intended to be used to
sell your product, make it competent and efficient, but
leave the flash and sparkle alone. Instead, learn the art
of gentle persuasion and aggressive promotions, and you
will be much further ahead than a lot of your competition.
