*I love it when a plan comes together. I got word this
week that the subscriber who won my last "subscriber drive"
contest has more than enough referrals to get a free $200

I have spent (probably) $300,000 finding the "best of the best"
experts in their given field, arranged to meet them personally,
and spend time picking their brains to learn the fundamentals
(and more intimate secrets) to those multi-million dollar success
marketing campaigns - and found *one thing consistent* in *every
expert!*

Experts become experts by "testing" things that *don't work!*
Yes, they spend THEIR money learning what you *shouldn't do!*
The lesson is: Seek the counsel of "many wise advisors" and your
plans will succeed.

Too many think you can just place a few pages on a web site and
then, presto - out pops orders - and money flows into your merchant
account. Wrong. Not true. Doesn't happen. (Ask anyone of my
tens of thousands of clients, customers and friends out here...
it doesn't happen.)

Marketing is the "life blood" of SUCCESS in whatever it is you
do, be that a retail shop on the road-side or a Web site on the
"information super highway."

So, where do you begin? How do you get those "prospect" to "bite"
and pull out their wallet, key in that CC number and part with
their hard earned dollars? Well, as this is an "encyclopedic"
answer, I will try to encapsulate the *basic foundational principles*
of what I think it takes... Ready? OK, let's do it!

First:

You *must* have a "product" (or service) that MEETS THE NEEDS
OF YOUR PROSPECT. This product or service must WORK - MUST BE
REAL, and not just another of the "bunch" of products like it...

Ask yourself this:

"What is it about my product or service that makes it superior
to my "competition"... List those "key points" of why I should
give YOU my business over your competitors. Remember, just because
you spent twenty grand designing the cover on your video don't
make me a flip, I want to know WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

People are *very selfish creatures* overall. They care *only*
about themselves and what they are going to get in exchange for
their money. They work hard, they save, they skimp here and there
to be able to pay their overdue credit card bills, you have to
also:

MAKE A COMPELLING CASE!!

Yes, you have to *EXPLAIN* and *EDUCATE* your customer about
you, your product, service or offer. People don't give two hoots
about how much you spent dazzling the graphics on your web site.
Then don't care *anything* about how hard you worked, they don't
care - even if you need a kidney transplant - they care about
one thing - SELF! What is it YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE IS GOING
TO DO FOR ME?

Now. Think about that... THEN - Go to your web site and see how
many "ME's" you have on your site - in your sales copy, your
message, your opening lines? Too many unfortunately. The *NUMBER
ONE WORD* in your sales copy should be YOU!!! Yes, telling the
customer "YOU WILL" ... "YOU SHALL"... "YOU CAN!!!"

I am one of the *few writers* who has successfully out-pulled
the 20-30% response rates to a list for "high-ticket" sales.
I've had offers that pull as high as 26% at a whopping price
of $5000. The only other "high-ticket" guy I am aware of that
pulls consistent high returns on high-ticket is my friend and
mentor, Jay Abraham. Jay taught me the *value of respecting*
my time, my talent, my expertise, and *demanding* a fair marketing
price for it. This made me many millions of dollars I would have
probably not received had he not *drilled that into my head*.

I say this to help each of you to *respect* your time, your product,
or service, and *make sure* you don't make the mistake so many
make of "under-valuing" your product or service in a "marketing
attempt" to gain new business. This too is a *grave mistake*
and one that you will pay for - a long, long time.

You can *never go back UP!* on price, but you can always go down.
People who buy will be angered if they pay you $200 - and next
week you are selling the same product or service for $30.00 Price
is an important aspect of testing your marketing, but not one
you should use to try to lift sales when you are at "zero." If
you are having little if any success, your problem lies in one
of the areas above, i.e., self-centered marketing, or failing
to educate your customers to the value of doing business with
you vs. your competition.

I have achieved sales successes on both ends of the spectrum,
both high ticket and low. The way to do that is simple:

Write a Love Letter

You should *always* have good smooth flowing introduction and
education to your visitors as they arrive... Each link should
continue the "educational" process of selling them towards your
goal of creating a "well educated" buying decision - at a point
where they have been coaxed to a "frothing desire" to receive
the "what's in it for me" benefits and features of your offer.

Does your copy suck?

Sales copy writing is both an art and a science. The greatest
of the greatest experts all teach the same techniques, but I
like to throw in a few extra things, I learned from *one writer*
most of the others seemingly overlook in today's distrusting
world.

Unfortunately, in today's world of "deceivers" there is a new
fight for customers that require you integrate a few new psychological
characteristics into your sales process.

First, your web site - sales copy - brochure - pitch - must have
an "opening theme" that "encapsulates" *all the benefits possible*
in as few words - but succinctly and well defined plain language
as possible... In other words, you need to define the unique
competitive advantage of your offer in the *first impression*
you provide each visitor, sale opportunity, you have.

Failure to do this will be catastrophic to your possibilities
of success. Don't believe this? Then do this simple test:

IF you listen carefully, this single lesson can *and will* add
1000% to your bottom line, beginning tomorrow, for those of you
who are making the mistake of not properly *setting up your sites*
to CAPTURE YOUR VISITOR the *moment* they arrive... You have
to "draw them in!*

Here's the test I want each of you to do.

I want you to create a web page on the *front page* of your sites
that quite literally is done with the imaginary stature that
IF YOU DON'T GET EVERY VISITOR TO RESPOND TO YOU - YOU WILL BE
SHOT IN THE HEAD!

Yes, I know that's a bit radical, but listen up - this is *the
missing link* most of you need. This *single lesson* will change
your life if you listen and do it.

Imagine a web site that said, "Thanks for coming by, but I am
being held at gun-point, and the 'masked gun-man' will shoot
me in the head if the counter changes by a single digit and the
phone on my desk doesn't ring! Please call me now, it's a free
call - and all you have to do is call and when I answer - hang
up the phone."

OK, OK, so I know that's a bit far-fetched, but maybe you are
beginning to see the *importance* of *properly getting your market*
into your copy, into your offer, to be *entertainedly* educated
towards *taking action!*

The *action* you ask them to take *must be* non-threatening -
and *absolutely risk free!*

Too many think people should "trust them" when *every one in
cyberspace looks the same!* That's right - imagine doing business
with a guy who crooks you, and next month this same investor
shows on your door-steps with different ID and *swears* he can
make you the *same profit* the prior crook made you (when he
robbed you blind) and further swears he's NOT THE TWIN BROTHER
TO THE CROOK YOU JUST ENCOUNTERED!

This is what it's like when you have 1001 sites offering *everything
the same* ... and *not a single one* sets themselves apart by
*educating* and making it *comfortable to do business with you!*
You should have a telephone number on line, that's answered by
a *live body* as often and as much as you can afford to do. Furthermore,
that number should cost the customer not one dime to call, and
should be manned by none other than "little ole you" for the
first few dozen calls, where you are copiously taking notes of
*every question* you apparently failed to *cover* or *emphasize*
about your offer. The education the market *wants to give you*
is priceless towards creating the "stream-lined" sale process

You are in control of your destiny. You *will not* find Mike

Surfing for pay this week:

*AllAdvantage is changing the software. This time the
goal is to move towards offering ads and information
in more native languages. They say they now offer
membership in 20 countries, and now, they intend to
speak like locals. The first step is to offer a US/
Canadian version of the viewbar and a Global English
version (with content aimed at English speakers in
other countries.) No multiple languages yet, but that
would be the next step. It remains to be seen if they
can keep the ads sold in non-English parts of the world,
but that seems to be their goal. Those of in the US
will need to upgrade, which you can do by logging and
picking the North American Viewbar.

*Anybody else notice that the month of April is almost
gone and no word from RadioFreeCash yet on their "paid
to listen" program? Hoping this is just par for the
course for this kind of program, not another big, big
disappointment.

*mValue has released a major upgrade for its software.
Users will be upgraded automatically the next time you
log in. They have added a few more frills, but it is
still a good bit of software, and I will be using mine
the full 40 hours per month to get a check each time OR
should I use only TEN HOURS? When you pop over to the
newly redone site, you will see several references to
10 hours not 40. The only place you see 40 hours is in
the announcement email regarding the update. You DO
get to see your first line of referrals, although you
have to count them yourself to learn how many there are.
Maybe that and the hours question will be fixed by "Phase
II" of the updates.

Speaking of updates, your mValue referral link is going to
expire in 60 days. You will need to change it to look like

Last week Utopiad, this week CashSurfers is revealing a neat
new web face. Better, cleaner, although there are some links
that do not seem to have anything to do with CS, it is an
improvement.

*Surfing2Cash has decided (quietly) to drop rates from
$.60 to $.40 per hour. That may actually help them
survive, but an email would have been nice.

*Not that all email communications go well <g>.

Elsewhere, I am officially giving up on GetPaid4.

Here is the blow-by-blow of the email battle that made my
decision easy. Do you have customers you have to respond

Dear Support,

That is NOT a very good answer. I DID NOTHING to misplace
the first account. I NEVER closed it. I ACTIVELY surfed
with it (75 hours in February alone - within the "target"
click rate.) I am extremely disappointed that your only
solution is that I should start over. That is particularly
true when you seem to funding a massive campaign to recruit
against me? Perhaps the money you intend to steal from my
account and other victims will fund your advertising campaign?

Why would I open an account again and lose the downline I
spent time and money to obtain?

Why would anyone do that, when in the future they could lose
their downline again, if you are unable to resolve this
relatively simple problem?

Are you going to restore my new account to the same level of
referrals in my downline? Where is "my" money for the time
already surfed, including downline time surfing. Is that now
"lost" too?

Shall I share this experience with folks actively building
downlines for you? People at Maxreferral, Refmaker, the
Delphi forums where people looking for programs like this
find information?

What is the best time to advertise on the internet?

Is there a good time? "I didn't even know this should be
a factor on how to advertise on the internet!" the internet
marketer said.

Timing is crucial to make or break a sale or to get your
message read on the internet.

Our personal experiences show:

* Days of the week are a very important factor. So what days
are good to advertise?

Our studies have shown that Monday thru Friday are the best
times to send out an advertisement that will be read
thoroughly.

Crucial factors to the days of the week:

* In the United States, Monday thru Friday is considered the
"work week." For the lucky people who have a schedule like
this, they savior the weekend to spend time with family
and catch up on other things. Making purchases or reading
emails is the last thing on their mind.

Let's break it down even more:

* Monday - internet users are usually dreading the first
day of the week. The kids are back to school and the hectic
week starts all over again. Usually Monday is a very slow
day to make sales. People are just exhausted getting through
Monday's.

* Tuesday - they have survived Monday and now getting into
the routine of the week. Tuesday's are the start of making
sales on the internet. Start the advertising campaigns today.

* Wednesday - middle of the week. This is the day of the week
to focus on all advertising campaigns. Start them as early as
possible. People are reading their emails from Monday and
Tuesday. Wednesday is a very active day on the internet. The
weekend is coming near. Advertise the entire day and evening,
if possible.

* Thursday - the last day of the advertising campaign of the
week. Advertise all day and evening again.

* Friday - for those workers who have energy left from the
daily grind of working, this is the time to relax. This is
usually family time, going to parties to let off steam from
the work week or just merely relaxing.

Saturday and Sunday - this is the time to get all of your
advertising campaigns ready for the beginning of the week.
Make your schedule up for the following week. Get your
newsletters and advertisements ready.

Focus on the past week's marketing campaigns. What sales
letters worked? Which ones didn't? Redo the ones that
didn't work and keep the ones that did.

Which headlines pulled the best? Which ezines/newsletters
brought in the most traffic? Did you even advertise in any
ezines? If not, put this on your goal list. A good place
to find ezines/newsletters to advertise in:

We ran a test with a newsletter that had a very large
subscriber list. Two (2) classified ads were placed
at different times. The same ad. One was for Wednesday
and the other was for Saturday. The ad that ran on
Wednesday received almost triple the response as the
ad that ran on Saturday.

If most of your clients/customers/readers are from
different countries, try to focus on their time zones.
If that means starting all of your advertising campaigns
on Saturday and working thru Wednesday... then do it.

The convenience of your customers should always be the
first priority.

Look at your weblogs. View them daily to find out when
your customers are hitting your site. What day of the
week is the strongest day? Track your sales. What day
of the week do you make the most sales, either from your
own product or from your affiliate program?

Each website and person is different. That is why tracking
was developed. The statistics above are from our personal
experiences. They may not work for you. Find out what
works! Your business can flourish if you market correctly.

keep others from ruining our reputations if they become unhappy

A. Don't ever doubt how important your reputation is to you. In
fact, a "good" reputation isn't good enough. As a professional,
you'll need to have a shining reputation. However, your actions
will speak louder than the words of anyone else. One
professional always recognizes another. On the Internet, this
is usually done through email communication.

How do you treat other business owners? This is one of the
highest areas of abuse on the Internet. It's not only
unprofessional but, downright dumb to treat email from other
business owners - who may be trying to establish a business
relationship with you - as "spam." Yes - you do have to use
some selectivity, but you can't do that if you refuse to even
scan through the email that comes in.

Professionals respect each other - work together - and grow
together. I've said this before but it bears repeating.
Ignoring email without even the least attention to what it might
offer you - and not returning phone calls - is the epitome of
amateur behavior.

You may have something that will help my business or make me
money - why would I blow you off? What if AOL, Microsoft, and
Netscape had each believed they were so important that they
didn't need to respond to each other? How important were any of
them when they first started? The bottom line is - you never
know who may be a valuable contact somewhere down the road to
success.

Ignoring the email of others with whom you have agreed to work -
is even worse!

If you are involved in any kind of project with another online
business owner, you have certain responsibilities. There may,
or may not, be an enforceable contract involved. Most likely,
there wont be. Either way - it doesn't matter! You made some
kind of agreement in the beginning!

Professionalism demands that this agreement be brought to
conclusion! Either the agreement must be fulfilled - or it
needs to be terminated. A professional doesn't terminate
agreements by changing his/her email address or refusing to
respond to correspondence on the matter. Professionals donut
just disappear!

If we routinely handle ourselves in a professional manner, our
reputations as professionals will stay intact. Any disputes to
the contrary will soon be forgotten.
